CODE OF CONDUCT
Expectations for everyone participating in the Security Festival
The Security Festival is an event organized by the Norwegian Information Security Forum, but with many partners/co-organizers. Different businesses and associations may have different cultures, practices and expectations, but are gathered at the Security Festival under a common banner. This text is to clarify what is expected of you who are participating in the Security Festival, whether you are a participant, sponsor, exhibitor, speaker, co-organizer or in other support staff, and what are the possible consequences of unacceptable behavior. These expectations serve as an agreement between the organizers and all types of participants. By participating in the festival, you accept the terms of this agreement.
The Security Festival is an arena for the exchange of experiences and interaction on information security and related fields. The organizers aim to create a friendly and safe climate for learning, networking, conversations, brainstorming and other forms of constructive communication.
The Security Festival brings together participants and speakers from Norway and abroad. We live in a world of heightened geopolitical tension and conflict, where the basis for such unrest lies far beyond the Security Festival's goals, mission and themes. It is likely that people who are in some way affiliated with parties in conflict will meet at the Security Festival. The organizers do not want the Security Festival to become an arena where such strong contradictions or conflicts can characterize the event.
Organizers' instructions – What are we asking of you?
- We want you to actively contribute to supporting the festival's goals.
- We ask that you act considerately and respectfully towards others at the festival.
- The Security Festival is allowed to leave its mark on the city of Lillehammer for a few days. We ask that you show consideration for the city and its residents, and act respectfully as a guest.
- We ask that you be mindful, respectful, and law-abiding when mentioning or featuring others on social media.
- We ask that you refrain from using the Security Festival as an arena for demonstrations, celebrations, protests, actions or similar that address conflicts or perceived injustice that by their nature lie outside the Security Festival's professional focus areas.
- We ask that you help the organizers by reporting any risky situations or obvious violations of these expectations.
- We expect you to refrain from unacceptable behavior.
