From the stage to the ear: Security Festival launching podcast

800 vulnerable service accounts became 100. A politician could be tracked in real time – just by being called. Two stories from the scene in Lillehammer open SF Podcast: a new, monthly conversation about security, relevant to you as an audience, partner or part of our community.

Security Festival is now launching its own podcast. The first two episodes were recorded live during this year's conference in Lillehammer, but the podcast doesn't stop there. Going forward, new episodes will be released monthly throughout the year, with conversations about topics that are relevant and current for Security Festival , audience, partners and community.

Program manager Klara Lundgren, project manager for Security Festival and daily local CISO in Nord Pool, speakers and subject matter experts meet for short, concrete conversations about what they actually work on.

Episode 1: From Excel monster to AI-powered CISO
Stig Torsbakken and Eivind Hestnes from Storebrand tell how they replaced the spreadsheet with a graph database that connects risk assessments to hard data. A concrete result: eight hundred service accounts with weak passwords, reduced to one hundred. And why DORA – which Stig initially dismissed as “nothing new” – ended up becoming the most important driver of change.

Episode 2: The Boring Vulnerability That Lets Anyone Track a Politician
Equinor's Mari Grini and Selina Demi share the story behind the company's focus on configuration management – sparked by an incident where a misconfigured chat system allowed a member of parliament to be tracked in real time. They explain why "boring" settings are real vulnerabilities, and why they chose to give decision-making authority to product teams rather than impose yet another top-down order. The episode is in English.

The first two episodes last around 20 minutes each, the first step in a podcast that will publish new, exciting conversations monthly going forward.
