Security Festival 2026 is over, and Lillehammer has once again been the meeting place for people working with public safety, emergency preparedness and cybersecurity.
Over three days, experiences were shared, perspectives challenged, and how we can together address an increasingly complex security landscape was discussed.
The most important thing happens between people
Security Festival is about professional enrichment – but also about the encounters between people. It is in the conversations after the lectures, around the lunch table and at the meeting places throughout the festival that experiences are shared, new perspectives arise and new collaborations can begin.
This year's festival brought together a wide range of professional communities, and the discussions on stage reflected many of the challenges facing the security community right now.
What keeps security communities awake at night?
One of the highlights just before this year's festival was the launch of the ISF report "What keeps you up at night?" .
The report points to four key challenges that characterize security work:
- Artificial intelligence
- Third-party risk
- Supplier dependency
- Lack of capacity to implement necessary security measures
These are themes that also set a clear framework for many of the discussions during the festival.
